Is the dragon age origins dlc important to dragon age 2?

I've just received dragon age 2 in the mail and I was wondering if its important to beat the DA:O dlc for import purposes. If its not then I will start DA2 right away.Is the dragon age origins dlc important to dragon age 2?
The only DLC for origins that seems to have any impact at all on dragon age 2 is Awakening. Even then, the impact is not all that great.Is the dragon age origins dlc important to dragon age 2?
