I have completed Dragon Age: Origins and i have imported that character to Dragon Age Awakening. I was Wondering if i would be able to transfer my Dragon Age Awakening Character over to Dragon Age 2 or if Dragon Age 2 does not allow you to import your previous character? And if you can transfer, would it only accept a Dragon Age Awakening Character or only an Original Dragon Age Origins Character?Will I be able to transfer My Dragon Age Awakening Character to Dragon Age 2?
For Dragon Age 2 you will be playing a new character named Hawke. You can't import your warden, but you can import the decisions you made in both origins and awakening. Things like who is ruling Fereldan, what happened to the dwarves, the architect, ect... will all be mentioned in DA2.
So yes you can import your Awakening save in to DA2.

What should i not miss in dragon age origins?

First of all, pause a lot. It makes the fight much more manageable.
Like ShadowSan pointed out: if you have a mage with you, set them to heal team members; personally though, I prefer to set mages to heal team members when they are at %26lt; 50% health. Also, for all party members, set them to consume health poultices when their health is %26lt; 25%. And be sure to put these AI actions at the top of the list.
Other than that, watch out for the ogre's special attacks. When it prepares to charge, pause the game and manually issue move commands for all party members that are in front of the ogre. If it grabs one of your characters, use Shield Bash (Alistair should have the skill) to make it drop whomever it's grabbing. Therefore, when fighting ogres make sure Alistair (or whomever has the skill) doesn't use Shield Bash automatically. So the moment the ogre grabs someone, pause, and issue a command for somebody to perform a Shield Bash attack.
And lastly, if the ogre changes target and goes for anybody other than your tank, manually take control of the new target, and keep him/her moving.How do you beat the ogre in dragon age?

So my friends made me start to play dragon age, and I'm a human noble, but apparently if you harden Alistair then you become his mistress... *bleerrrgh* But also if Alistair doesn't harden up then he won't be happy being king (apparently)....

I have demo'd both the PS3 %26amp; PC version of Dragon Age II. Here are the results....
Console: Great graphics, near identical to PC version (even with the PC's boost in resolution), and great framerates.
PC: Great graphics on high resolution, somewhat dull in colors (maybe my PC monitor who knows), but more important to note and unfortunate.....it was quite choppy in comparison to the console version.
Conclusion: The fact Dragon Age II was choppy on PC (even with my gtx 560 ti), and seemed more optimized for consoles (with the new menu and controls) pretty much made me decide to go with the console version. Take what i have said and what IGN had to say (maybe do some research too) and decide.

ok i cant decide which one to get, i like rpgs and fps games. i liked fallout, assassins creed 1, knights of the old republic, and a bunch of other games like that. i have a few friends who will play borderlands with me but idk. im not sure if i should buy assassins creed 2 because its kinda short and the price will most likely drop fast. and a lot of people says dragon age is bad on the 360. any opinions on what to buy?Should I get dragon age: origins or borderlands or assassins creed 2?
If you like RPG's, I'd definitely recommend you Dragon Age: Origins. I don't know who told you that the Xbox360 version is bad, because it definitely isn't. Only the graphics are really bad, so if you're someone who really cares about graphics I'd recommend you Assassin's Creed II.
Borderlands is, in my opinion, more of a shoot-'em-up with an environment that strongly reminds me of Fallout 3. The game is full with basic quests and it basically comes down on one thing; kill everything that moves. Sure, it's fun, especially with more players (but since you have only a few friends who'd play it with you..) but I don't think it's fun on a long-term. (by the way, if you have friends who own the game. Why not lend it or play it there some day?Judge for yourself!)
Dragon Age: Origins is a typical Bioware RPG. It has a lot of depth and it's all about making choices. You can chose who to be, how to encounter situations and even have a relationship with some of your characters. The graphics and animations of the 360 version suck as I said before, but it's the gameplay that does it. Plus, it's a very long game. It doesn't have a single player though.
Assassin's Creed II is so much better IMO then the first part. The graphics are beautiful and you finally get a link with the main character. The basic missions such as "save the citizens" and "flags races" are still there, but not necessary anymore and there are more of those missions then before. If you liked part one, which you said you did, I'm pretty sure you'll like this one as well.
Personally, I didn't think it was that short. But then again, I did a lot of side-quests and didn't rush through the main-quest. The game could have so much more depth then it has now though, but it's not really disturbing.

It doesn't really get boring after you beat the game, because then you get to do side quests.
In AC2, there are 100 story-mode quests, and 100 side quests, which about 25 different mission types.

A really tough choice man. Also, you have awesome taste in games. Now, lets break down the choices.
Assassin's Creed 2: An amazing game. At least 3 times better then the original. If you liked AC1 then you will ADORE AC2. It has all the best of AC1 with very little of the bad. I beat the whole thing in about a week but that was me playing for close to 10 or more hours a day (how my Box hasn't red-ringed is beyond me). Besides some slight issues (free running can be frustrating, some missions have annoying try-die-repeat style to them and no way to quickly travel from one end of a city to another) I honestly consider a sleeper hit and Game of the Year for 2009.
Borderlands: I have yet to play this but all my friends love it even though a few feel it gets really old after so many hours. Has a very Fallout quality to it and the game does look insanly beautiful with the cel-shaded graphics.
Dragon Age Origins: Yes, this game was built from the ground up to run on a PC. No, the 360 version does not suck. Just don't compare it to the PC version. Bioware are masters of the RPG and this is NO exception. While I do feel that the individual opening origin stories could use abit more variety (why can't I be a Human Commoner? or an Elven Noble?) the game is amazing. The battle system isn't perfect but the added feature of regenerating health, mana and stamina after each battle make for some tense fights instead of endless slogs of lowly grunts chipping away at your health till the big mother-lover comes out. Plus, many play throughs will clock in at over 70 hours. Do the math and you have a game that I do not think anyone will see 100% of.
In short, AC2 is amazing and worthy of a buy once the price drops, Borderlands seems like a very fun rental and DRO is a game that will keep you busy till the holiday season of 2012.

It doesn't really get boring after you beat the game, because then you get to do side quests.
In AC2, there are 100 story-mode quests, and 100 side quests, which about 25 different mission types.

A really tough choice man. Also, you have awesome taste in games. Now, lets break down the choices.
Assassin's Creed 2: An amazing game. At least 3 times better then the original. If you liked AC1 then you will ADORE AC2. It has all the best of AC1 with very little of the bad. I beat the whole thing in about a week but that was me playing for close to 10 or more hours a day (how my Box hasn't red-ringed is beyond me). Besides some slight issues (free running can be frustrating, some missions have annoying try-die-repeat style to them and no way to quickly travel from one end of a city to another) I honestly consider a sleeper hit and Game of the Year for 2009.
Borderlands: I have yet to play this but all my friends love it even though a few feel it gets really old after so many hours. Has a very Fallout quality to it and the game does look insanly beautiful with the cel-shaded graphics.
Dragon Age Origins: Yes, this game was built from the ground up to run on a PC. No, the 360 version does not suck. Just don't compare it to the PC version. Bioware are masters of the RPG and this is NO exception. While I do feel that the individual opening origin stories could use abit more variety (why can't I be a Human Commoner? or an Elven Noble?) the game is amazing. The battle system isn't perfect but the added feature of regenerating health, mana and stamina after each battle make for some tense fights instead of endless slogs of lowly grunts chipping away at your health till the big mother-lover comes out. Plus, many play throughs will clock in at over 70 hours. Do the math and you have a game that I do not think anyone will see 100% of.
In short, AC2 is amazing and worthy of a buy once the price drops, Borderlands seems like a very fun rental and DRO is a game that will keep you busy till the holiday season of 2012.

You can only stay in the city and you can choose for the time of day to be day or night and you can go into mountains. then in DA it is a much larger area, and in DA2 you can only go to/into places if you have a mission/quest there (for some places, not all) where in DA you can wherever as long as you have gone there. Then there is the leveling up system. in DA2 the leveling up system is much more different from the first, the first is a little more, basic? i guess, its not really complicated for DA2 but idk its different. You can only stay in the city and you can choose for the time of day to be day or night and you can go into mountains. then in DA it is a much larger area, and in DA2 you can only go to/into places if you have a mission/quest there (for some places, not all) where in DA you can wherever as long as you have gone there. Then there is the leveling up system. in DA2 the leveling up system is much more different from the first, the first is a little more, basic? i guess, its not really complicated for DA2 but idk its different. My dragon age awakening import is not complete?
I went to import my dragon age awakening grey warden, a survivor of the first game and a warden commander after. And since awakening doesnt have a save at the end when you beat it i have to import from my save before the brood mother. So when i try to import into DA2 says the game is incomplete and that dragon age will fill in the gaps. Does that mean it wont count my dragon age origins or awakening stuff?My dragon age awakening import is not complete?

Should I buy Mass Effect for 20 dollars or Dragon Age new?
I'm not as worried about the price, but it sounds to me like Mass Effect might be the better game, even though it's two years old. Everything I've read says Dragon Age's graphics look pretty dated anyway, so it doesn't sound like much of a technical evolution over Mass Effect. Add in the fact that Mass Effect characters can be continued in the imminent sequel and I am leaning towards buying the cheaper game. Any thoughts? i do think mass effect has slightly better graphic though but nothing to write home about
i like dragon age alot more;however, because i like alot of the mage spells and skills
perhaps i chose the "wrong" character class in mass effect (half engineer, half psychic powers, or whatever its called) and my person sucks, so weak..they cant kill anything, the aiming is terrible, i dont like the combat one bit in mass effect and although its a RPG at its core is still a "shooter" and the shooting mechanics suck, just my opnion though
be prepared, both games are like 90% listening to boring dialogue and asking boring questions, watching boring cutscreens..also, most of the "action"/missions are running errands for people and stuff, boring
the main reason i will play dragon age a little longer is that i JUST got my dog and i love him alot

They are both teriffic games. Mass effect is at heart a mesh of a RPG and a squad based shooter. Not a terribly tactical shooter, but you do run around shooting things with 2 sidekicks.
Dragon Age is more of a classic RPG in the vein of Baldurs gate or Neverwinter nights. Actually the interface is a LOT like Neverwinter Nights.
So pick your poison.
Both have decent plots, character interaction, and are up to the quality standards of Bioware (Which with a few exceptions have always been pretty damn high.) Production values are about the same. Sysytem requirements are the same (As these games need to be playable on an Xbox 360)

Dragon Age 2 starts during the timeline of the first game. It starts somewhere in the beginning of the first game and ends ten years after that. From the demo I got the impression that all relevant events from the first game are narrated by the character Varric. I do recommend Red Dead Redemption. The first thing you'll notice is the beautiful visuals. Everything has an incredible amount of detail and draw distance, and the character models animate wonderfully. Watching the sunset on horseback is a truly visceral video game experience, and won't soon be forgotten. Combat works in a very fun, gritty way. You have a large variety of period weapons to deal the bad guys (or good guys).

Once there, talk to the demon after several fights, and ask for training from the demon. Note that you must be a mage and go to fight the demon yourself, because no one else you send will talk to the demon enough to get the training.

Hey there guys, i got dragon age ultimate edition which comes with all the dlc and awakening, i had a question i started origins and i am level 12 dwarf warrior, but i feel like starting awakening because i have already orgins before on a different console, can i starting awakening by transfering my level 12 dwarf warrior or do i have to beat origins first then transfer my character?Dragon age question for origins and awakening?

Why can't Alistair marry a different race, from Dragon Age?
So I've discovered that in the end of Dragon Age, Alistair becomes king, and can have a queen, ONLY if you are a human noble. But if you choose the right settings, the female warden can still have the relationship with Alistair... So my question is, if Alistair will persue a relationship with a city elf, Why won't he marry her? ArgghhhhhWhy can't Alistair marry a different race, from Dragon Age?
He will not marry her mostly because how the game runs is that the elf's are compared to as how african americans were treated down in the states during the time when slavery was permitted. They do not believe the elves to be anything more than slaves as suck humans will see the elf wardens to be a disgrace to the order. So being how badly they are treated no matter how much he was in love with a elf warden he cannot marry her because of how badly an outrage it would cause between the human nobles due to the fact that they want to keep the elf's as peasants and keep all higher occupatients for humans. It's fast if you don't take the time to really enjoy the game and finish sidequests which is one of the main reasons I enjoy that game but if you want to finish it that badly don't need to do any and follow the main quest line. I am trying to get all of the romance achievements in Dragon Age and I am missing Leliana. I do not have options to "start" a relationship. It's the kind of game that makes you wish you lived in their world (something that only One Piece did to me, lol).
It takes about 60 hours. If you really do everything, maybe about a 100.
But still, it's worth it!
Edit: according to gamespot.com (my favorite game site), it will take you about 50 hours to finish the game. It took me more though, I'm the kind that likes to roam around. :P

How to make your tank attack first in dragon age origins.?
OK kind of a noob question but I've had dragon age for about a week now and i want my tank to attack first so he has aggro but i have no idea how to make that happen. And of course when i attack first all the enemies come at me and i end up dying with or without a healer. so how do i have him attack first without the fear of me dying? I do get what you mean (I play a rogue as well) The simplest solution is, to have your Tank enter a room first. If a room is stuffed with enemies, make sure you take control of the tank (Which will probably be Alistair) and have him walk into the room first. He will set off all the aggro and everything will attack him first.
This becomes less of an issue once your tank has Taunt. Even if your rogue accidently sets off an ambush, all you need to do is use Taunt to attract everything towards the tank.
*As a rogue, it would be useful to invest in Combat Stealth. It basically functions as a 'Vanish' and any aggro you may have will be severely reduced. Most of the time, enemies will outright forget you the moment you stealth and attack someone else.

Get the form and this time finish the area, fight the boss at the end. Then you have a choice. You can go counter-clockwise from the 5th dot and finish the other planes or continue going clockwise. Finish killing all the other demons at the end of each plane, save your companions, and kill the Sloth Demon.
That's how I always do it anyways.

Actually Bioware did the same thing with Mass Effect as well, and their decision isn't stupid as a lot of the places are pretty well destroyed so even if you could continue to explore after the final boss, you wouldn't be able to go to a lot of the places.
Anyways, no you would have to have a save a pretty good distance before the final boss if you still wanted to travel the world, as once you are on the final mission you are locked in till the end of the game.
Edit: At Mr James, that save only applies to the downloads if you haven't finished their missions till after the main mission. If you have completed the downloads' missions (much like I do since I wanted their bonuses early on), then you can only reload your last save which will likely be after you defeat the final boss. At that point, all you can do is walk out the door and watch the credits again.

How do I access Awakening for Dragon Age: Origins on the X-Box?
Alright, I feel like such a noob for asking this, but it is driving me insane. I have the Ultimate Edition for Dragon Age. I have downloaded everything off the second disc and beat Origins. I want to access Awakening and transport a character, but I can't find the awakening Campaign, nor anyway of accesing other campaigns in the first place! All you have to do is start a new game (on the main disc). You can then choose whether you want to play Dragon Age: Origins or The Awakening. In this case, choose the Awakening.

There is one bug I'd like to warn you about though. The Awakening WON'T import your Origin's DLC equipment. So if you have an Origins character wearing equipment from a DLC, it's equipment won't be transported.

Yes and no. Some characters from Origins are returning in DA2, but mostly you don't need to have cleared Origins to enjoy DA2. You can import your Origins save to DA2 but you will still be playing as a new character, only few thing will be altered by things you did in Origins. So you can safely play DA2 without needing to have played Origins. But I sill recommend you play Originins too, it is a great game.
No, its a new story. This one takes place a few years after the defeat of the archdemon in DA origins. In this one the Templar order is falling apart and the opening begins with a templar women who has a dwarf brought in to question him about a champion who can save the order of the templars. As you play you realize that the dwarf joins your party later in the story and is actually your friend in game. You play as the champion who the templars are looking for. In DA2, your character starts in Lothering and must run from the coming blight before it's taken over. You run to the Free Marches while your DAO character was probably still sorting out the mages, dalish and dwarves. After the Blight is over in Ferelden, your story continues on with your DA2 character's rise to legendary status.
Some DAO/A characters make cameos, and Anders/Justice does join your party. But the storylines are mostly separate.

Yes and no. Some characters from Origins are returning in DA2, but mostly you don't need to have cleared Origins to enjoy DA2. You can import your Origins save to DA2 but you will still be playing as a new character, only few thing will be altered by things you did in Origins. So you can safely play DA2 without needing to have played Origins. But I sill recommend you play Originins too, it is a great game.
No, its a new story. This one takes place a few years after the defeat of the archdemon in DA origins. In this one the Templar order is falling apart and the opening begins with a templar women who has a dwarf brought in to question him about a champion who can save the order of the templars. if there is a code to download the expansions then i doubt your going to be able to use them,im sure the person who owned the game used them.if they are included on a disc then there shouldn't be any problems.this is a great game,i ended up buying all of the expansions separately and it cost me a fortune but it was worth it.hope this helps.have fun gaming.

Hey im wondering if I should buy Dragon age origins ultamate edition tomorrow. I know that dragon age 2 is coming out on march 8. Should I give dragon age 1 a try before I buy the second one? Has to be Oblivion if you look at them from an RPG perspective.
It has everything you could want in an RPG less the romance which I found disappointing but some like that it has no romance. Dragon Age Origins is a really good RPG as well but the lack of an open world environment holds it back. Oblivion allows you to be just about any type of character you want to be and to explore the world at your leisure. You can even make your own spells and enchant gear with different attributes. You can wear anything you want and are not restricted by class or race although you may have negative effects. It's just all around awesome.
I was very disappointed in DA2. They fixed a few things but broke much more. Why would they make your talent/skill options so limited in an RPG? The game just felt like it was rushed and unfinished. I didn't care for the story at all. I loved being a Gray Warden in DA:O. I felt like a bad *** with a real purpose. Almost everything in DA2 made me feel like I was doing something completely selfish or wrong.
I think Skyrim is going to be amazing.
Dragon age is better, at least in my opinion. Oblivion is like a sandbox game free roam game. You go where you wan't and do whatever you wan't, however the story is very week. There are a crap load of side quests tho. Dragon age isn't free roam but is has 30+ hours of gameplay, a fantastic story, and loads of interaction with the characters, as you choose everything you say. You can develop good relationships with characters or make enemies. There are romance options, and you even get to kill a possessed little kid. How can you beat that. I can not stress enough how much fun i had playing dragon age. The characters with their backstory's is just amazing. You can learn so much about them. There billions of codexes that let you read the history of thedas(world of dragon age). Basically there are several origin stories to start out with, such as dwarf nobleman, dwarf comminer, dalish elf, city elf, mage, Human noble. Each starts out differently, and there are many choices to make in the game that you can do differently to get different outcomes in other playthroughs. The game really is worth playing. The only thing that might prove a problem to you is the combat system, which is fixed in dragon age 2. DA2 has less than the fist one, but it is still great. Is Dragon Age kind of like Legend of the Dragoon from the ps1?
Legend of the dragoon is still one of my favorite games and now i am looking at the Dragon Age games.I know for a fact the combat system is totally different, but what i am interested in is if how they have you go through each area similar? Like in legend of the dragoon, all the areas were kind of linear but you could always go back to them. Or is it like oblivion where its just... wide open? the first dragon age is a great game but is linear. i would say it is like legend of the dragoon (based on you description) with the roaming. and the game isn' very long, only about 8 hours where oblivion is more like a day at least.
